Kathryn & Jordan’s Italian Winery Wedding in the Chianti Hills

Kathryn & Jordan’s Italian Winery Wedding in the Chianti Hills

When Kathryn and Jordan started planning their destination wedding in Tuscany, they knew one thing above all else: they wanted to feel completely immersed in the Italian countryside. No ballrooms, no formal venues, just rolling vineyards, open sky, and the kind of warmth that only a summer evening in Chianti can offer.

They chose a historic wine estate in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, a setting where ancient stone buildings meet sweeping panoramic views, and where the landscape itself becomes part of the celebration.

A Summer Morning in the Tuscan Countryside

The day began quietly, with the bridal party gathering inside the estate as wildflower bouquets, bursting with cosmos, dahlias, gerberas and delphiniums in every shade of pink, orange and blue, lined the stone windowsills in the morning light. The flowers set the tone perfectly: relaxed, joyful and rooted in the season.

An Outdoor Ceremony with Views Over the Chianti Hills

The ceremony took place on the estate’s hilltop lawn, with the Chianti hills stretching to the horizon in every direction. A wooden arch draped in white linen and fresh flowers framed the couple as they exchanged their vows, surrounded by around 80 guests seated on cross-back chairs across the grass.

One of the most distinctive elements of the day was the groom’s traditional Scottish kilt, a genuine nod to Jordan’s heritage that brought an unexpected and wonderful contrast to the Tuscan backdrop. As the couple walked back down the aisle to the sound of cheers and a shower of dried petal confetti, the mix of Italy and Scotland felt entirely natural.

Long Tables, Olive Branches and Local Wine

The reception moved to the estate grounds, where long feasting tables had been set with linen runners, tapered candles and garlands of olive branches interspersed with seasonal blooms. With around 80 guests seated together at communal tables, the atmosphere shifted naturally from elegant to convivial, exactly as a summer wedding dinner in Tuscany should feel.

An Evening to Remember

As the night came in, the celebration moved inside to the estate’s stone-vaulted reception hall. The first dance was pure joy , the kind of moment where the room erupts and the couple completely lets go. Later, Kathryn changed into a second outfit, a chic satin co-ord, and the dancing continued under strings of warm Edison lights well into the night.

The evening’s showstopper was the champagne tower: the couple poured rosé into a pyramid of coupes surrounded by fountains of gold sparks, an unforgettable close to a day that had felt effortless from start to finish.

A Wedding in Tuscany That Felt Completely Them

Kathryn and Jordan’s wedding was a reminder of what makes the Italian countryside such a compelling choice for couples planning a destination wedding. The light, the food, the landscape, the pace of the day — everything conspired to create something that felt deeply personal and completely alive.

This wedding captured the essence of celebrating in Tuscany, breathtaking scenery, genuine hospitality, and a setting where every moment felt naturally connected to the landscape.
